Guiding Eyes for the Blind is a guide dog training program that uses IBM Cloud to help collect and analyze medical, behavioral, and development data around its breeding process. Our film depicts this process through the eyes of one such dog, Jackson, chronicling his life from birth, through training and placement with a raiser family, to his eventual pairing with a blind person.
Less than half of the dogs bred by Guiding Eyes successfully graduate the program due to medical and behavioral factors. The film highlights key data points that are used by Guiding Eyes to alter breeding tactics and improve success rates for the dogs in the program.
The film features real trainers, raisers, and guide dog recipients who have benefited from the organization’s efforts and showcase just how that data contributes to changing the lives of both humans and dogs.
